SEARRP is so pleased to be part of the upcoming Royal Society Science+ meeting, Safeguarding Anthropocene Tropical Forests, taking place at the Royal Society in London on 5–6 October 2026.
The two-day meeting will bring together researchers and practitioners working across tropical forest science, conservation, restoration and green finance to explore a central question: how can our growing scientific understanding of tropical forests be translated into effective action to safeguard biodiversity in a rapidly changing world?
Tropical forests are among the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, but they face increasing pressures from land-use change, degradation and climate change. At the same time, growing investment in nature-based solutions and green finance presents new opportunities and questions about how conservation and restoration can be delivered effectively, equitably and with measurable benefits for biodiversity.
Across four thematic sessions, the meeting will explore the current state of tropical forest science, deployment of green finance, forest restoration, and practical ways forward. Speakers will bring perspectives and experience from tropical forest landscapes around the world, with a strong focus on connecting scientific evidence with conservation practice, policy and finance.
The event is free to attend and participation is available both in person at the Royal Society in London and online. Advance registration is required.
