University Field Courses

SEARRP regularly facilitates and provides fieldwork support for university field courses at our Danum Valley base and the Maliau Basin Studies Centre. Packages can be tailored entirely to the individual needs of universities – and can include input from SEARRP’s team of highly trained team of Research Assistants, specialist lectures and guided tours of Sabah’s forests and plantations and assistance with flight, hotel and other logistic arrangements. Early Career Scientists

In partnership with the Tropical Biology Association (TBA), SEARRP holds annual month-long field courses in tropical ecology at Danum Valley. These courses bring together newly graduated biologists from South East Asia and across the world for a programme of lectures by leading ecologists, field exercises and individual research projects. Corporate Partners

SEARRP has worked with several leading corporations over the years including HSBC, Shell, Sime Darby, Wilmar, both as partners on a variety of our research programmes and by designing and leading corporate training programmes. Our work with HSBC, for example, has involved providing awareness building programmes on sustainable forestry and plantation management and the challenges posed by a changing climate.
